The Truth They Don’t Teach: Who Really Gave Power to the Government?

Let’s set the record straight.
When our ancestors fought for independence, they did not fight to trade one form of control for another. They fought for freedom—real freedom—before any state was even recognized as a governing authority.
But in 1787, when the Constitution was drafted, there were roughly 4 million people living in the United States. Out of those 4 million, only about 240,000 people—a small, privileged fraction—had the legal ability to vote or participate in shaping this new system.
That means over 3.7 million people had no voice.
No vote.
No representation.
No consent.
And yet, somehow, history has been framed to make it seem like “the people” collectively agreed to give power to the government.
That is not what happened.
A small group of individuals—an elite minority—came together and created a governing framework. They used powerful language like “We the People” to give the appearance of unity and consent. But the truth is, the overwhelming majority of the population never agreed to surrender their independence or place themselves under state authority.
Most Americans don’t even know this.
They were never taught how it really began.
They were never told that the foundation of this government was not built on full participation—but on exclusion.
So let me be clear:
I believe we, the people, still possess our independence.
Not conditional independence.
Not state-controlled independence.
Real independence.
And it is time for that to be recognized.
No state should operate under the assumption that it holds unlimited governing authority over the people. Authority is not ownership. Governance is not control. And no system—no matter how long it has existed—has the right to override the natural independence of the American people.
We are not subjects.
We are not property.
And we are not bound by the idea that a decision made by a small group of people, centuries ago, defines the limits of our freedom today.
It’s time to wake up.
It’s time to question everything.
And it’s time to reclaim what was never truly given away.
Our independence.
